Job summary

Xtremax is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to help secure internet-facing applications and monitor them across enterprise-grade platforms in cloud environments. You will work with cybersecurity specialists, infrastructure and application teams to operate SaaS security platforms, investigate alerts, and automate workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in security operations or platform operations.
• Strong understanding of web technologies (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS).
• Experience supporting SaaS or enterprise platforms in production.
• Experience troubleshooting REST APIs and system integrations.
• Scripting with Python or PowerShell for automation.
• Good communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and maintain enterprise web monitoring and security platforms to ensure reliable monitoring of internet-facing applications.
• Support onboarding of websites, domains, subdomains, and digital services into monitoring platforms.
• Monitor website availability, integrity, and security events, investigating alerts and anomalies for timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot platform issues involving monitoring configurations, APIs, authentication, and workflows.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and API integrations to improve efficiency.
• Perform platform health checks and tuning to improve detection accuracy and service reliability.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and vendor teams to resolve issues.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Participate in operational support activities including incidents and user support requests.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for platform resilience and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and maintain enterprise web monitoring and security platforms to ensure reliable monitoring of internet-facing applications.
• Support the onboarding of websites, domains, subdomains, and digital services into monitoring platforms.
• Monitor website availability, integrity, and security events, investigating alerts, false positives, and monitoring anomalies to ensure timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot platform issues involving monitoring configurations, system integrations, APIs, authentication mechanisms, and operational workflows.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and API integrations to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Perform platform health checks, monitoring optimisation, and configuration tuning to improve detection accuracy and service reliability.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and vendor teams to resolve operational issues and enhance monitoring effectiveness.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including operational procedures, onboarding guides, troubleshooting documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in operational support activities, including responding to production incidents, monitoring alerts, and user support requests when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen platform resilience, operational processes, and service quality.

Education and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in security operations, platform operations, cloud operations, infrastructure operations, or application support.
• Good understanding of web technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS, web servers, and internet-facing applications.
• Experience supporting SaaS or enterprise platforms in a production environment.
• Experience troubleshooting REST APIs, webhooks, authentication mechanisms, and system integrations.
• Familiarity with scripting using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages to automate operational tasks.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with website monitoring, application monitoring, security monitoring, or similar operational platforms.
• Exposure to SIEM solutions, ITSM platforms, or security operations workflows.
• Basic knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with common web security concepts such as the OWASP Top 10.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms through REST APIs or automation workflows.
