Job summary

Airwallex in Singapore is hiring the first SDET on the Risk Platform team to define quality standards for risk-critical systems. You will build automation, tooling, and ecosystems that let us ship quickly and safely.

You bring strong test automation and API testing skills, experience with CI/CD, contract testing, and an appetite for adversarial systems. You will mentor peers and help shape test strategies across the risk domain.

Qualifications

• Experience as an SDET / Software Engineer in Test.
• Experience testing large-scale distributed backend systems: REST APIs, messaging, service-to-service integrations.
• Hands-on API, E2E automation and CI/CD; contract testing capability.
• A strong sense of what makes tests reliable: deterministic data, isolated environments, fast feedback.
• Use AI to accelerate testing — LLM-assisted test generation, coverage analysis, failure triage.
• Comfort working in a self-directed, Agile team, with excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end and regression automation across risk decisioning flows and wire into CI/CD.
• Establish stable test data and isolated environments for deterministic automation.
• Introduce and own contract testing between the Risk Platform and its upstream/downstream services.
• Build jurisdiction-specific coverage validating regional rules and regulatory requirements.
• Define and enforce release-quality gates and post-release verification.
• Own testing and release acceptance for major client-facing projects, end to end, in partnership with engineering and product.
• Champion testability and quality and mentor engineers on test design and automation.
