Qualifications

• 10+ years of back-end engineering experience with distributed systems in production.
• Experience in risk, fraud, fintech, payments or high-stakes domains requiring correctness and reliability.
• Strong Java proficiency including multithreading and high-concurrency patterns.
• Experience designing distributed systems: event-driven architectures, partitioning, caching, resilience.
• Proficiency with Spring/ Spring Boot and build tools like Gradle or Maven.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Observability, logging, metrics, tracing and incident management at scale.
• Leadership in complex initiatives without formal management authority.
• Strong communication with engineers, product managers and stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and guide the technical direction of core risk services and real-time detection systems.
• Build and evolve distributed risk platforms to be reliable, scalable and cost-efficient.
• Own end-to-end initiatives from design to rollout and continuous improvement.
• Write production-grade Java/Spring Boot code and review designs and RFCs.
• Collaborate with managers and product partners to shape roadmaps and milestones.
• Raise engineering standards for quality, observability, and security across the stack.
• Integrate models, rules, and features into production detection systems.
• Improve incident response, SLOs/SLAs, and capacity planning.
• Mentor senior engineers through coaching and pair programming.
