Job summary

A growing European Chemical Manufacturer, an MNC, is seeking a Junior Lead Scientist to lead formulation projects for Skin Care products focusing on Sun Care.

You will develop and run laboratory experiments, review data, and guide teams to deliver new formulations on time. The role involves collaborating with customers and internal teams, and supporting product launches with new test methods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Skin and sun care formulation.
• Experience leading NPD/EPD/Open Innovation projects.
• Experience with skin/sun application testing (SPF, corneometer, TEWL).

Responsibilities

Job description

A growing European Chemical Manufacturer which is also MNC has opening for a Junior Lead Scientist role to carry out and lead formulation application projects for Skin Care product focusing on Sun Screen.

Responsibilities:

Develop and carry out laboratory experiments, review experiments results and seek answers to problems encountered through collection of data and investigation. Decide how to proceed with next experiment/stage of project. Assist less experienced staff through the same process.

• Provide a technical support service to sales and marketing as and when required e.g. answering customer technical enquiries, recommending products, training sessions, participating in customer technical visits & training.
• Collaborate directly with customers to assess or develop formulations.
• Communicate on technical report to the rest of the business (i.e., research, marketing, and sales groups throughout through out the company) as well to customers.
• Ensure research, sales and marketing teams are kept up to date with developments on projects.
• Responsible for selecting most viable development routes in projects which might be complex or straightforward.
• Responsible for planning and running multiple projects which maybe short or long duration and carrying out experiments of varying complexity to deliver new data and formulations on time.
• Use creative and viable approach to support new product launches and existing product ranges which include development of new test methodologies, or developing new and novel finished formulations. Expected to enhance knowledge of relevant application and market trend.

Requirements:

• Degree, Master or PHD in relevant Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical or equivalent
• Experience leading NPD/ EPD/ Open Innovation projects with strong scientific depth.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Skin and sun care formulation, skin/sun application testing (e.g. in-vitro SPF measurements, corneometer, TEWL, etc).
• Direct and recent knowledge / experience in ingredients for sun and skin care formulations
• Direct and recent experience in formulating and troubleshooting sun and skin care formulations
• Direct and recent experience in the sun and skin care market
