Job summary

CuspAI is seeking a Scientific Product Manager to join our Product team and bring partner labs and their experimental workflows onto the platform. You will work closely with materials scientists, ML researchers and platform engineers to translate lab needs into actionable requirements.

You will own onboarding, define roadmaps and drive closed-loop campaigns, balancing throughput and data quality while collaborating with external labs and internal teams across locations.

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or related experimental discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput or automated experimentation in industry, a national lab or research institute.
• Proven track record translating scientific needs into engineer requirements and validation in the lab.
• Understanding of how experimental data is produced, metadata, provenance, and data quality for ML.
• Depth in at least one materials domain and willingness to work across others.
• Working knowledge of Python for data handling; comfortable with APIs and data schemas.
• Strong communicator and collaborator with external labs and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Shape and prioritise the roadmap for experimental data, protocols and campaigns.
• Write requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria for engineers.
• Contribute to decisions on what to build and what to integrate.
• Lead technical discovery with partner labs and map their workflows.
• Own onboarding for partner labs from scoping to initial campaign.
• Act as scientific counterpart in meetings, workshops and conferences.
• Design optimisation campaigns with ML researchers respecting constraints.
• Define validation benchmarks and evidence for partners.
