Job summary

Lenovo is seeking a Scientific IT Officer (SITO) to oversee daily IT support and long-term management of technology assets within the organization.

The role involves evaluating technology, conducting proofs-of-concept, and coordinating projects from ideation to completion. You will plan, deploy and track hardware assets, ensure license compliance, and provide level 2 endpoints support across Windows, Linux, macOS and iPad environments. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in endpoint support and project handling.
• Strong hands-on technical support experience in Windows/Linux/Mac OS/iPad environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work as a team and independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deploy and track scientific IT hardware assets and/or software licenses with vendor contracts.
• Design, execute and enhance scientific software and hardware asset management processes.
• Manage inventory of scientific IT assets and ensure accurate recording of modifications and replacements.
• Coordinate license compliance audits and respond to software editors’ requests.
• Manage lifecycle and support for scientific IT hardware and software from procurement to decommissioning.
• Drive continuous improvement in technology spending strategies.
• Verify asset software with licensing contracts and perform retracking actions.
• Take ownership of project elements or coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
