Job summary

Seacare Manpower Services Pte Ltd is seeking a dedicated Science Laboratory Assistant for a primary school in Bishan. The role involves preparing resources, setting up laboratories, and supporting lessons and workshops throughout the school year.

You will manage materials, maintain cleanliness, and assist with purchasing supplies while ensuring safety and accuracy in everyday activities. The contract runs January-December 2027, with a one-year duration and extension possible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare resources and materials for lessons, programmes, exhibitions and campaigns.
• Set up science laboratories and makerspace facilities before activities and clear them afterwards.
• Organise and maintain learning materials, apparatus, equipment and consumables.
• Ensure materials are clean, well-maintained and stocked through routine checks.
• Assist with purchasing learning materials and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of science rooms and makerspace facilities.
• Assist with teaching and learning support duties as assigned.

Science Laboratory Assistant (Primary School - Bishan) x1

Salary: $13-$13.50/hour (approx. $1,549-$1,608/month)

Contract Duration: 1 year, with option to extend for another year

Contract Period: January-December 2027

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-2:00pm, inclusive of 1-hour lunch break

Working Days: Monday-Friday, excluding weekends and gazetted public holidays

No Service: School holidays and days without lessons, such as examination administration days and parent-teacher meetings. Services may be required on certain non-lesson days, with advance notice.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare resources and materials for lessons, enrichment programmes, competitions, exhibitions and educational campaigns.
• Set up science laboratories and makerspace facilities before activities and clear them afterwards.
• Organise and maintain learning materials, apparatus, equipment and consumable supplies.
• Ensure materials are clean, well-maintained and adequately stocked through routine cleaning, drying and stocktaking.
• Assist with purchasing learning materials and supplies.
• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of designated science rooms and makerspace facilities.
• Perform other teaching and learning support duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Able to handle primary school science laboratory apparatus safely and appropriately.
• Organised, meticulous and attentive to detail.
• Able to multitask, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Basic proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Able to communicate effectively with teachers through WhatsApp.
• Preferably at least 3 years of relevant experience in a science laboratory, primary school or similar environment.
• Experience supporting science workshops, educational activities or learning journeys is an advantage.
• Able to use Google Sheets to check laboratory schedules; training may be provided.
• GCE O-Level Science subject with at least a C6 grade is preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
