Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biotechnology, Applied Chemistry, Life Sciences) or equivalent technical experience.
• Prior experience as a Science Lab Technician or Assistant, preferably in a school setting in Singapore.
• Solid knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and handling of hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Lab Preparation: set up, test, and prepare equipment and reagents for daily science lessons and examinations.
• Inventory Management: maintain accurate stock records and coordinate replenishment with suppliers.
• Safety & Maintenance: enforce safety regulations, store and dispose of chemical waste, calibrate equipment regularly.
• Department Support: assist teachers with admin tasks and campus logistics during science events.

Working Hours

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Fridays: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Off on weekends and gazetted public holidays

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

• Lab Preparation: Prepare, set up, and test science apparatus, biological specimens, chemical reagents, and experimental kits required for daily science practical lessons and national examinations.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records of all laboratory equipment, glassware, and hazardous materials; process stock-take counts and handle timely replenishment orders with external suppliers.
• Safety & Maintenance: Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety regulations; properly store and dispose of chemical waste materials, and perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
• Department Support: Assist the Science Department teachers with administrative profiling, filing, and general campus logistics during departmental projects or science fairs.

Job Requirements

• Qualifications: Minimum Diploma or Certificate in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biotechnology, Applied Chemistry, Life Sciences) or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience: Prior experience working as a Science Lab Technician or Assistant, preferably within a local Singapore primary or secondary school environment.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and general familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
