Job summary

BUSINESS EDGE Personnel Services Pte Ltd is hiring for a School Science Lab Assistant in Seng Kang. You will prepare experimental setups for lab activities, assist in Science workshops, and help maintain and stock the Science labs.

Role covers Makerspace support and general school administration. Contract from 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027 with a 7:30am–4:45pm/7:30am–4:15pm schedule; salary SGD 2,400–2,800 per month.

Qualifications

• An ‘O’ Level qualification and basic knowledge of IT applications (e.g. MS Word and Excel).
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multi-task and able to handle a fast-paced environment
• Preferably at least 3 years of working experience in a school environment and some basic knowledge of laboratory, chemicals and apparatus
• Candidates without relevant school experience but who possess comparable skills and qualifications will also be considered

Responsibilities

• Prepare experimental setups for lab activities and trial experiments, modify as needed.
• Prepare additional apparatus for teachers for Science activities and assist during Science Workshops.
• Assist with purchasing materials for experiments within budget requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Science Labs and monitor stock through logbooks.
• Conduct stock-taking of all apparatus and resources in the Science department twice a year.
• Prepare and maintain logbooks for class entries/exits and for broken/condemned items.
• Prepare Hydroponics/Urban Farming facility for planting/harvesting and clean after harvest.
• Monitor and assist in replacements in Science Ecological Gardens and Aquarium maintenance.
• Support Makerspace activities by preparing materials/tools and maintaining equipment; provide user assistance.
