Job summary

Explorer Academy in Singapore seeks a Science and Lab Teaching Intern to support curriculum planning, practical lessons, and theoretical teaching across primary and secondary science subjects.

You will plan, prepare, and deliver science lessons, assist in creating digital learning materials, and gain mentorship from senior teachers. The role is onsite with an internship allowance of SGD 800–1,200 per month and potential full-time opportunities for high performers.

Qualifications

• Majoring in a science-related field and eligible for a 3–6 month internship.
• Commit to 3–6 months internship and onsite in Singapore.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and nurturing young minds.

Responsibilities

• Observe classes and review teaching skills with senior teachers.
• Plan, prepare and deliver science practical lessons per curriculum.
• Prepare chemicals and lab apparatus for practicals.
• Deliver science theory lessons per Explorer Academy’s curriculum.
• Create a safe and conducive learning environment.
• Build relationships with students and parents.
• Assist with ad-hoc duties as assigned.
• Design and develop content for primary/secondary science curriculum.
• Create teaching slides and interactive activities.
• Upload online learning materials to student portal platform.
• Provide administrative support to the Science Curriculum Unit.

Job Description

In your teaching role, you will

• Sit in for class observation in our senior teacher class and have a review session to learn different classroom management and teaching skills.
• Plan, prepare and deliver science practical lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
• Prepare the required chemical and lab apparatus for practical classes.
• Plan, prepare and deliver science theory lessons in accordance with Explorer Academy’s curriculum
• Create and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for students.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with students and parents
• any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

In your curriculum development role, you will

• Design and develop content for our Primary/Secondary Science curriculum.
• Be exposed to the different types of learning materials and digital aids that can help students learn better.
• Participate in the brainstorming of science holiday revision programme and work with the marketing team to promote the programme.
• Support the lab team in developing learning materials.
• Create questions and write model solutions
• Create teaching slides and interactive activities
• Create and upload online learning materials (videos, notes etc) onto student portal platform.
• Provide administrative support to the Science Curriculum Unit.

Requirements:

• Student majoring in science related field.
• Able to commit 3-6 months internship
• Good Command of Both Written & Verbal English.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
• Organised and have strong attentions to details.
• Takes ownership and responsibility of tasks given.
• Passion for teaching and nurturing young minds.

• Weekdays: 12pm to 9pm
• Weekend: 9am to 6pm
