Job summary

BUSINESS EDGE PERSONNEL SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking a dedicated Lab Support Assistant to assist Science and STEM activities at a Singapore school. The role covers materials prep, stock checks, and classroom assistance across labs and discovery spaces.

Working hours are 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a lunch break; contract period Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2027. Salary is SGD 1,900 per month. On-site location at 91 Telok Blangah Heights.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in science lab/support roles.
• Ability to handle lab equipment and materials safely.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers during Science and STEM lessons in the Science Labs and Discovery Rooms.
• Prepare and top up materials and apparatus for Science experiments and STEM activities for all levels.
• Carry out stock takes and maintenance of all Science and STEM equipment in the Science Labs and Discovery Rooms.
• Assist Science Reps in preparing and running practical tasks.
• Support environmental programmes, including gardening, animal care, and related tasks.
• Any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or Level Head (Science).
• Assist the Admin Manager with admin work when needed.

Job description

Salary: $1900/Month
Work Location: 91 Telok Blangah Heights

Contract Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.

Working Hours:

• Mondays to Fridays: 8:00am to 2:30pm, including a 30-minute lunch break (30 hours a week)
• No work on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers during Science and STEM lessons in the Science Labs and Discovery Rooms
• Prepare and top up materials and apparatus for Science experiments and STEM activities for all levels
• Carry out stock takes and maintenance of all Science and STEM equipment in the Science Labs and Discovery Rooms (for example, robotics kits, engineering kits, apparatus, posters and experiment kits)
• Assist Science Reps in preparing and running practical tasks (for example, preparing and distributing teaching and learning resources to Science teachers)
• Support the school’s environmental programmes, including: simple gardening, watering and weeding in the school garden looking after the animals’ corner: feeding, cleaning and clearing the rabbit pen and other small animal enclosures
• Any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or Level Head (Science)
• Assist the Admin Manager with admin work when needed

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the duties described above
