Job summary

APSN in Singapore seeks a qualified psychologist to conduct assessments and provide counselling for students with learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. You will work with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to design effective interventions and support strategies.

The role requires a Master's in Applied/Clinical Psychology with SRP registration or eligibility, and 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Applied/Clinical Psychology and SRP registration or eligibility.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Passion for working with persons with special needs, with empathy and professionalism.
• Clear, organised thinking with strong verbal and written communication, and experience in clinical/counselling or educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and work with clients and families to address learning, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to identify learning barriers and implement effective interventions and support strategies.
• Provide counselling, mentoring, and therapeutic interventions to support students’/trainees’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Design and implement programmes to promote resilience, wellness, and prevent potential academic or behavioural risks.
• Conduct workshops and training for parents and staff to enhance understanding and management of learning and behavioural needs.
• Maintain professional standards with relevant qualifications, registration, and experience, particularly in working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
