Job summary

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PTE LTD seeks a licensed School Nurse to provide medical support and maintain student health at the campus. The role requires SNB registration, CPR/AED certification, and the ability to manage medical care, records and emergencies throughout school activities.

You'll monitor student well-being in the clinic, communicate with parents and staff, and participate in first aid planning for excursions and events.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse with Singapore Nursing Board and yearly certification.
• Experience as a Registered Nurse in a school setting preferred.
• Certification in CPR and AED.
• Positive attitude and initiative.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical support for all activities conducted at the School.
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment through safety concerns, allergy and disease control, medical records and maintenance, first aid and emergency procedures.
• Assess needs of students who require medical attention via examination, observation, and vital signs.
• Administer medical care appropriate to the student's condition or needs.
• Inform parents and school administrators about the student's condition.
• Arrange transfer for student(s) to the Accident/Emergency nearest hospital per procedures.
• Administer medicines and treatments as per school policy.
• Monitor the student's condition in the school clinic before sending home or to class.
• Inform parents verbally or in writing of nursing care rendered.
• Document nursing care rendered to the student in CPOMS.
• Undertake health and safety checks, audits, banned substance tests etc.
• Involve in excursion first aid preparation.

Key accountability (Main purpose of this job):

• To provide medical support for all activities conducted at the School

• To ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students, teachers, staff and visitors to the premises through attendance to school safety concerns, allergy and disease control, medical records and maintenance, first aid and emergency procedures

Responsibilities (Key areas of Responsibilities):

• Assess needs of students who require medical attention via examination, observation, and measuring of vital signs.

• Administer medical care appropriate to the student's condition or needs.

• Inform parent and school administrators about the student's condition.

• Arrange transfer for student(s) to the Accident/Emergency of the nearest hospital as per the standard procedure.

• Administer medicine and treatments as per the school's policy.

• Monitor the student's condition in the school clinic before sending the student home or back to the classroom.

• Inform parents verbally or in writing of the nursing care rendered to the student.

• Document nursing care rendered to the student in CPOMS (Comprehensive Pastoral Online Management System).

• Undertake health and safety checks, audits, banned substance tests etc.

• Involve in excursion first aid preparation.

Requirements:

• Licensed registered nurse with Singapore Nursing Board with yearly certification

• Experience working as a Registered Nurse and school environment preferred

• Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

• Positive work attitude and initiative

• Ability to remain calm while working under pressure
