Job summary

BUSINESS EDGE PERSONNEL SERVICES PTE LTD invites a Kitchen Assistant to join our school kitchen team at Hougang. You will prepare, portion and distribute ingredients for daily lessons, check deliveries, label and store items, and maintain hygiene in the NFS rooms.

The role requires 1 year in school or commercial kitchens, knowledge of food safety, and strong teamwork. Working hours are Mon-Thu 7:00am–4:00pm and Fri 7:00am–3:30pm, with occasional extended hours; base salary SGD 2,200–2,300 per

Qualifications

At least 1 year of working experience in school kitchens or commercial kitchens.
Good knowledge of food and kitchen safety, with skills in food handling.
Able to work well in a dynamic environment.
A team player with good organisational, time management and communication skills.
Pass in PSLE to communicate well with students, food supply vendors and maintenance contractors.

Responsibilities

Prepare, portion and distribute food ingredients before daily lessons.
Assist with weekly food ingredient orders and receive deliveries.
Verify quantities, quality and specifications of delivered ingredients.
Label, store and maintain ingredients with proper stock rotation.
Conduct regular inventory checks of kitchen supplies and equipment.
Inspect and maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen utensils and appliances.
Ensure overall cleanliness, hygiene and safety of NFS rooms.
Carry out general administrative duties to support teachers in kitchens and investigation hub.
Clean kitchens and investigation hub on Fridays and during school holidays.
