Job summary

MAXHUNT RESOURCE PTE LTD, on behalf of Northland Secondary School, Singapore, seeks a qualified counsellor to support students through individual and group counselling, crisis intervention and ongoing case management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Counselling with relevant professional qualifications, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work with teachers, parents and external agencies in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counselling.
• Experience in counselling and/or social work, preferably with adolescents or young people in a school or community setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess needs, identify interventions and monitor progress.
• Collaborative skills to work with teachers, leaders, parents and external agencies.
• Organised, meticulous and able to manage multiple cases and priorities.
• Sound judgement, discretion and sensitivity with confidential student matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counselling for students.
• Confer with staff, parents and external professionals on students being counselled; conduct home visits if needed.
• Refer students and families to community resources or external professionals.
• Provide direct crisis intervention and follow-up for students affected by critical events.
• Maintain case consultation records and documentation.
• Provide updates to school management on student progress in counselling.
• Network with external professionals and community agencies.
• Provide training for staff and parents on mental health issues and first-line intervention.
