Job summary

The National University of Singapore seeks a Locum Counsellor/Psychologist to provide professional counselling to students and support campus-wide mental health initiatives. You will conduct assessments, manage crises, prepare reports, and collaborate with internal units to meet student needs, including after-hours shifts.

This temporary role requires a Masters in counselling or related field, with extensive crisis experience and a deep commitment to student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counselling, counselling psychology, or related field as listed.
• Eight or more years of professional counselling practice or psychology work.
• Experience with crisis intervention and crisis assessments.
• Clinical member and registered counsellor with SAC/SPS or equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with school systems, especially tertiary education.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional counselling to NUS students in person and online.
• Conduct risk and needs assessments and develop intervention plans.
• Prepare assessment reports and case presentations.
• Escalate and co-manage crisis cases with senior practitioners.
• Maintain accurate clinical records per UCS policies.
• Respond to crises with safety planning and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate care across services and stakeholders on campus.
• Collaborate with schools, student affairs, and external units.
