School Attendant – Full-Time Morning Shift

Job summary

Assumption English School in Singapore is seeking a reliable School Attendant to support daily operations and maintenance. Duties include cleaning, upkeep of facilities, stocking supplies, opening/closing rooms and gates, and assisting with events.

The role requires basic computer skills, English and a Mother Tongue language, and physical fitness to move furniture. Workdays are Monday to Friday, with schedule variations noted, and a contract period through 2027.

Qualifications

• Preferably GCE 'O' Level or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a School Attendant.
• Previous experience working in a school environment will be an advantage.
• Able to communicate and write in English and one Mother Tongue language such as Tamil, Malay, Mandarin, etc.
• Physically fit and able to carry out duties involving movement of furniture and equipment.
• Punctual, responsible and hardworking.
• Good team player with the ability to work independently.
• Basic computer and internet skills, including WhatsApp.

Responsibilities

• Carry out indoor cleaning duties such as wiping tables and windows, vacuuming carpets, cleaning pantry areas and clearing rubbish bins.
• Assist with the general upkeep and maintenance of school facilities.
• Report building, equipment and facility defects to the Operations Manager.
• Check and ensure school supplies are adequately stocked.
• Open and lock school rooms and assist with opening and closing of school gates.
• Operate the security alarm system and report any security concerns.
• Provide logistical support for school events, including moving, carrying and arranging furniture and equipment.
• Assist with traffic control and ushering duties when required.
• Maintain indoor house plants.
• Assist the Operations Manager in coordinating with term contractors for maintenance works.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the School Leaders or Operations Managers.

• Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 4:00pm (1-hour lunch break included)
• Friday: 6:30am – 3:30pm (1-hour lunch break included)
• No work on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
