Job summary

mitsubishi chemical singapore pte. ltd. is seeking a Sales & Marketing professional to support development and implementation of strategies, coordinate promotions, analyze market trends and manage the team to drive revenue growth.

You will engage with Japanese VIP customers for engineering plastics, negotiate terms, plan targets with HQ Japan, and report performance with financial data to HQ and affiliates.

Qualifications

• Min 2 years (Senior Executive)/ 3-5 years (Specialist)/ 5 years(Asst. Manager) in sales and marketing with a track record of achieving targets.
• Min 2 years (Senior Executive)/ 4 years (Specialist)/ 5 years(Asst. Manager) in sales for engineering plastics products.
• Strong marketing analysis, team management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with customers – especially Japanese VIPs for engineering plastics lines (Polycarbonate & PET).
• Negotiate price, delivery times, and handle claims with consultants from Host Company and affiliates.
• Create and execute sales targets and action plans with HQ (Japan) and company policy.
• Establish budgets and action plans to support supervisors.
• Conduct activity to achieve budget: quantity, revenue and gross profit.
• Report to supervisors and HQ (Japan).
• Present activity, results and forecasts with financial data to HQ (Japan) and affiliates; coordinate monthly meetings.
• Plan and execute marketing strategy aligned with HQ (Japan).
• Conduct market research for engineering plastics and related Host Company products in the region.
• Expand sales network via trading companies.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required by management.

Position Purpose:

To support the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies, coordinate promotional activities, analyse market trends, and assist in managing the overall sales and marketing team to drive revenue growth and achieve organisational goals and budgets.

Significant Non-Departmental Internal and External Relationships:

Internal: Finance dept, Logistics dept, Japan R&D & Technical Team

External: Contract suppliers, contact customers, contact agents/ distributors

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow up with given customers – especially Japanese VIP customers mainly for engineering plastics product lines (Polycarbonate and Poly Butylene Terephthalate).


• Communicate with the customers, including price negotiations, delivery time, and counter for claims and complaints with consultants from Host Company and other group affiliates.


• Create and execute the sales target and action plans along with the HQ (Japan)department and company policy.


• Establish business budget and action plan to support supervisors.


• Conduct business activity to achieve budget – Quantity, Sales Revenue, and Gross Profit.


• Report and communicate with supervisors and HQ (Japan).


• Report business activity, results, and forecasts with financial data to HQ (Japan) and affiliate companies, including facilitating the monthly/periodically meetings.


• Plan and execute marketing strategy aligned with HQ (Japan) department policy.


• Conduct market research mainly for engineering plastics product lines, but also for Host Company’s products in the region which Host Company covers.


• Extend the sales network by utilising trading companies.


• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned and/or requested by the management.

Education / Certification

Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field

Experience / Skill

• Min 2 years (Senior Executive)/ 3-5 years (Specialist)/ 5 years(Asst. Manager) in the role in sales and marketing, with a proven record of achieving sales targets and successful execution of marketing campaigns


• Min 2 years (Senior Executive)/ 4 years (Specialist)/ 5 years(Asst. Manager) of Sales experience in engineering plastics-related products.


• Demonstrated skills in marketing analysis, team management, and effective communication

Knowledge and Technical Skills

• Able to process letters of credit.


• Understanding of Incoterms.


• Fluent in English


• Proficiency in Japanese is preferred for communication with Japan HQ and Japanese Customers)
