Job summary

A Safety Supervisor is sought to support and maintain workplace safety at construction sites. The role focuses on monitoring activities, identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and promoting a strong safety culture among workers and subcontractors.

Key duties include daily safety inspections, toolbox talks, inductions and assisting with Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP). Strong communication and 2–5 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Workplace Safety & Health or related field is required.
• Relevant Singapore-recognised safety qualification/certification.
• BCSS / CSOC or similar construction safety certification where applicable.
• Minimum 2–5 years of construction safety experience.
• Good knowledge of Singapore WSH requirements and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with safety procedures and WSH requirements.
• Monitor construction activities and enforce safe work practices.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and inductions for workers.

• Monitor PPE usage and enforce site safety requirements.
• Report safety observations, non‑compliance and corrective actions.
• Support investigations and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses.

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Safety Supervisor to support and maintain workplace safety and health standards at construction sites. The successful candidate will monitor site activities, identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and promote a strong safety culture among workers and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and work practices.
• Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with company safety procedures and Singapore WSH requirements.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings and worker safety inductions.
• Assist in preparing and implementing Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and enforce site safety requirements.
• Follow up on safety observations, non-compliance and corrective actions.
• Assist with investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, toolbox meeting records and other safety documentation.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, barricading, warning signs and emergency arrangements at the worksite.
• Liaise with site supervisors, project managers, subcontractors and workers on safety matters.
• Stop unsafe work and immediately report serious safety issues to the relevant management personnel.
• Assist the WSH team in safety audits, inspections and implementation of safety programmes.
• Perform other safety-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or WSH personnel.

Requirements

• Diploma / Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or related discipline.
• Relevant Singapore-recognised safety qualification/certification.
• BCSS / CSOC certification or other relevant construction safety certification, where applicable.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant construction safety experience.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction-site safety requirements and WSH practices.
• Familiar with Risk Assessment, Safe Work Procedures, toolbox meetings and safety inspections.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Able to work independently and take appropriate action when unsafe conditions are identified.

Preferred

• Experience with main contractors or large construction projects.
• Experience in building, façade, interior fit-out or civil construction projects.
• Additional WSH-related certifications will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and safety management systems.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin or other languages is an advantage.
