Job summary

Kurihara Kogyo is looking for a Safety Officer to manage safety on a Greenfield construction site at Tuas Area, Singapore. You will enforce safety practices, lead toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with the WSH Act and MOM regulations while coordinating with project managers and engineers.

You should have a Diploma/Degree in OSH or Engineering, MOM WSH registration, and at least 3 years’ experience in construction safety, especially on electrical installation projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Engineering or related discipline.
• WSH Officer registration with MOM is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction safety, preferably with exposure to electrical installation projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enforce workplace safety practices across all site activities, with a strong focus on electrical installation works.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures in line with WSH Act, MOM regulations, and company policies.
• Lead toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective/preventive measures.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into work planning and execution.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, permits, and audit records.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in greenfield projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and risk management frameworks.
• Multilingual ability (English + Mandarin/Tamil/Bengali) for effective communication with foreign workers.
