Responsibilities

• Develop and Implement Safety Management System - Establish and maintain the company’s WSH policies and procedures.
• Ensure all work activities comply with safety regulations and company requirements.
• Conduct Risk Assessments - Identify workplace hazards and unsafe practices.
• Recommend control measures to minimize risks.
• Ensure Compliance with WSH Regulations- Ensure compliance with requirements under the Workplace Safety and Health Council and MOM regulations.
• Liaise with government authorities during inspections or audits.
• Conduct Safety Inspections and Audits - Carry out regular site inspections.
• Investigate unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Incident Investigation - Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Safety Training and Toolbox Meetings - Organize WSH training programs for workers and staff.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
• Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) System - Ensure high-risk works such as hot works, confined space works, lifting operations, and work-at-height activities are properly controlled.
• Emergency Preparedness - Develop emergency response plans.
• Conduct fire drills and emergency exercises.
• Maintain Safety Records - Keep records of inspections, incidents, training, permits, and corrective actions.
• Promote Safety Culture - Encourage workers and subcontractors to follow safe work procedures.
• Improve safety awareness across the organization.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in WSH related disciplinary
• At least 8 years' relevant experience in safety, preferably in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations (e.g., MOM standards)
• Risk management expertise (identifying hazards, assessing risk, and creating mitigation plans)
• Excellent communication skills (with both internal staff and external stakeholders)
• Ability to lead safety audits and investigations into incidents
• Training and mentoring skills to foster a safety-first culture within the workforce
• Leadership and teamwork capabilities to manage multi-departmental EHS functions
