Job summary

JEL Maintenance Pte Ltd on Jurong Island is seeking a Safety Coordinator to manage safety at the worksite and ensure compliance with WSH requirements. You will identify unsafe conditions, inspect equipment, and coordinate with project teams to implement remedial measures.

The role requires 3+ years in construction safety, relevant certificates, and strong communication skills. On-site work with MS Office proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety coordination in construction.
• Valid WSH certificates (Level B/WSH Coordinator).
• Lifting/WAH/First Aid certificates preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify unsafe conditions and practices at the worksite.
• Recommend practicable measures to remedy unsafe conditions.
• Enter, inspect and examine the worksite.
• Inspect machinery and equipment at the worksite.
• Request and review site records and required documents.
• Assess exposure to noise, light, heat and hazardous substances.
• Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences.
• Liaise with site operations staff and Project Manager on safety issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project / Site Manager.

Working Location: Jurong Island

Responsibilities:

• Assist the occupier of the worksite to identify any unsafe condition in the worksite or unsafe work practice which is carried out in the worksite.
• Recommend to the occupier of the worksite to implement such reasonably practicable measures to remedy the unsafe condition or unsafe work practice.
• Enter, inspect and examine at any reasonable time the worksite.
• Inspect and examine any machinery, equipment, plant installation or article in the worksite.
• Require the production of worksite records, certificates, notices and documents kept or required to be kept under the act, including any other relevant document, and to inspect and examine any of them.
• Assess the level of noise, illumination, heat or harmful or hazardous substances in the worksite and the exposure levels of persons at work.
• Investigate any accident, dangerous occurrence or occupational disease that occurred within the worksite.
• Liaise closely with site operations staff and Project Manager on all safety and health issue.
• Any other duties assigned by the Project / Site Manager

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant Safety Coordination Work experience in construction industry
• Candidate must possess valid relevant certificates (E.g.: WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B/WSH Coordinator).
• Additional certificates related to safety are preferable such as Lifting Supervisor Safety Course, WAH Supervisor Course, Occupational First Aid Course etc
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and at the same time be a team player.
