Job summary

VAREL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a dedicated Room Attendant to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet our high standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role supports the Tribute Portfolio brand by Marriott and contributes to memorable guest experiences with attentive service.

As part of our housekeeping team, you will prep rooms according to guest preferences, report maintenance needs, and maintain a clean, organized environment. Pre-opening experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to high standards.
• Make beds, replace linens and towels, replenish amenities per hotel standards.
• Ensure rooms are prepared and personalised per guest preferences and requests.
• Inspect rooms for quality before release for occupancy.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department.
• Handle lost and found items per policies.
• Maintain housekeeping trolleys, pantries, and storage areas.
• Support deep cleaning, VIP room prep, and special housekeeping tasks.
• Observe safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals/equipment properly.
• Respond to guest requests promptly, professionally, and courteously.

About the role

As a Room Attendant, you will be the heartbeat of our guest experience—ensuring every guest room is impeccably clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared. Through your attention to detail and commitment to excellence, you will help create memorable stays that reflect the charm and character of our Tribute Portfolio brand.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Make beds, replace linens and towels, and replenish guest amenities according to hotel standards
• Ensure guest rooms are fully prepared and personalised in accordance with guest preferences and special requests
• Inspect rooms thoroughly to ensure quality standards are met before releasing them for occupancy
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, and unusual room conditions promptly to the appropriate department
• Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel policies and procedures
• Maintain housekeeping trolleys, pantries, and storage areas in a clean, organised, and well-stocked condition
• Support deep cleaning projects, VIP room preparations, and special housekeeping assignments as required
• Observe all workplace safety procedures and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Respond to guest requests promptly, professionally, and courteously

About you

• Prior experience as a Room Attendant or in hotel housekeeping, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel
• Pre-opening hotel experience is an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards
• Friendly, approachable, and guest-focused with a positive attitude
• Good time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Able to perform manual tasks and comfortable with prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements throughout the shift
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
• Able to start work within short notice
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
