ST ENGINEERING AEROSPACE LTD. in Singapore is recruiting a GNC engineer to design and develop guidance, navigation and control algorithms for unmanned drone systems.

You will work within a collaborative team delivering safe, reliable flight control software and sensor fusion solutions for regional customers. Proficient in C/C++, Linux and ROS, you will model and simulate with MATLAB/Simulink, implement firmware and flight code, analyze flight data and participate in design reviews to ensure

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry or relevant experience in GNC.
  • Background in system modelling, system identification, parameter estimation, frequency response analysis, classical and modern control theory.
  • Experience in system modelling and control, analysis, and simulation in aircraft applications.
  • Experience in developing model-based design and analyses using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Knowledge in inertial and other navigation sensors (accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, GNSS receivers, pressure/ranging sensors).
  • Knowledge in Kalman filtering, digital signal processing and sensor data fusion.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming language.
  • Proficient in Linux, ROS and Git development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and modify GNC algorithms for unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Develop and modify 6-DOF and HIL simulation environments; test and integrate sensors.
  • Write, modify and test firmware and flight code on flight control computers (C/C++).
  • Analyze flight data to verify performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Generate documentation on specifications, design, tests and results of GNC systems.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Support ground and flight test activities.
  • Collaborate with staff from other engineering and business groups.

Job Description
You will help to design and develop Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems and algorithms for our drone systems and be part of a tight-knit team that provides safe, reliable drone systems and quality services to our distinguished customers in Singapore and around the region.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Design, develop and modify guidance, navigation, and flight control systems and algorithms for our unmanned aircraft systems.

  • Develop and modify 6-DOF and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environments. - Select, test, evaluate and integrate new sensors or navigation systems onto our drone systems.

  • Write, modify, and test firmware and flight code that runs on the flight control computers of our drone systems (in C or C++).

  • Analyze flight data to verify flight performance and to help to troubleshoot issues that are found during the flights of our drone systems.

  • Generate documentation on the specifications, design, test procedures and test results of the GNC systems and algorithms that were developed.

  • Participate in design and code reviews.

  • Support ground and flight test activities.

  • Work in a collaborative manner with staff in other engineering (e.g. system, software, safety, flight test, etc.) and business groups.


Requirements


  • Good to have 3+ years of industry or other relevant experience in GNC
