Job summary

The BERKELEY EDUCATION ALLIANCE FOR RESEARCH IN SINGAPORE LIMITED is seeking a Research Technician to provide hands-on wet-lab support for the SURF program and to take primary responsibility for routine laboratory management and workflows.

The role requires strong molecular biology skills, meticulous organization, and the ability to train incoming personnel in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on wet-lab molecular biology experience.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine experimental procedures, standardized assays and protocol-driven experiments.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, media, and consumables for RNA and molecular biology experiments.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking of reagents, consumables, and equipment.
• Coordinate service contracts, repairs, and preventive maintenance with vendors or institutional facilities.
• Maintain logs and documentation for equipment use, maintenance, and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, local, and regulatory laboratory safety requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and basic laboratory training for new lab members.
