Job summary

Rosyth School is seeking a Restorative Care Officer to support students through restorative practices, conflict mediation and social-emotional development, working with teachers, parents and school leaders to foster a positive learning environment.

The role includes Monday hours (7:30am–4:30pm) with occasional ad-hoc sessions, a fixed-term contract for 2027 with option years, and a focus on confidentiality and thorough case reporting.

Qualifications

• Recognised Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education or related Social Sciences.
• Certification in Restorative Practices (WSQ or IIRP) is required.
• At least two years of relevant restorative practices experience, youth mentoring, pastoral care or school social work.
• Experience with student conflict mediation and facilitating circles.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-engagement skills.
• Ability to communicate with students, teachers, leaders and parents; document cases and write concise reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct restorative mentoring and check-ins to develop self-regulation and social-emotional skills.
• Facilitate restorative conversations and peacemaking circles addressing bullying and conflict.
• Train teachers in restorative language and coach RP-Champions and student peer supporters.
• Facilitate family circles and parent workshops to strengthen home-school relationships.
• Submit observations and progress reports; provide milestone evaluations within three working days.
• Support analysis of evaluation tools and incident trends.
