Job summary

The Upper House Grill & Bar in Funan Mall, Singapore, is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily restaurant operations, staff coordination, customer service, information management and business reporting.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Science or related field, demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, and be able to lead teams, manage schedules, and handle busy events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.
• Experience in restaurant, hospitality, administration or operations preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and database/reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Manager in daily restaurant operations.
• Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
• Ensure smooth service during busy periods and events.
• Monitor customer service standards and handle feedback professionally.
• Assist with staff scheduling, attendance, training and daily task allocation.
• Maintain accurate operational records, sales reports, inventory records and staff documentation.
• Collect and analyse restaurant sales, customer and operational information to support management decision-making.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for management.
• Manage restaurant POS, reservation systems, digital platforms and other information systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers, mall management, contractors and external service providers when required.
• Assist with inventory monitoring, purchasing coordination and stock control.
• Support promotional activities, events, live-band nights and special functions.
• Assist in maintaining the restaurant’s social media and digital customer communication platforms.
• Ensure company policies, food safety requirements, workplace procedures and operational standards are followed.
• Identify operational issues and recommend improvements to management.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of company and customer information.
• Perform other administrative and operational duties assigned by management.
