Job summary

Greenwood Fish Market is seeking an experienced Captain to support daily restaurant operations in Singapore. You will oversee service flow, lead a section of the floor, and ensure guests receive attentive, friendly service.

Working closely with the Restaurant Supervisor and Manager, you will train junior staff, handle guest requests, and help implement promotions. A positive, team‑oriented attitude and food-safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Captain or Senior Waiter in a busy restaurant.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude with a strong sense of teamwork and service excellence.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restaurant Supervisor in overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth service flow.
• Lead a section of the restaurant floor to ensure attentive service for guests.
• Guide and support junior service staff with on-the-job training and ensuring service standards are met.
• Handle guest requests and minor complaints with professionalism; escalate larger issues to the Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
• Ensure tables, stations, and service areas are clean, properly set up, and well-stocked at all times.
• Monitor inventory of service items (cutlery, glassware, condiments) and inform the Supervisor of any needs.
• Support the Supervisor and Manager in implementing promotions or new service initiatives.
