Job summary

Bureau Veritas Singapore Pte Ltd is hiring a Resident Technical Officer - Civil to supervise civil engineering works on a major project in Singapore. You will review drawings, monitor workmanship, ensure compliance with specifications and safety procedures, and coordinate with contractors and authorities.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Civil Engineering, QSS accreditation, RTO registration, and at least 3 years of site supervision experience in civil or infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification recognised in Singapore.
• Accredited as a Qualified Site Supervisor (QSS) under JAC of IES/ACES.
• Registered as a Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with relevant accreditation.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction supervision.
• Experience supervising civil, structural, infrastructure or building projects.
• Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and site practices.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations and authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site supervision and inspection of civil engineering works to ensure compliance with drawings, specs and contract.
• Monitor construction activities and verify works meet approved methodologies and quality standards.
• Inspect workmanship, materials and practices for conformance with project requirements.
• Witness and record site tests, inspections and quality control activities.
• Identify and report defects, non-conformances and safety concerns to the Resident Engineer.
• Ensure contractors comply with Workplace Safety and Health requirements and procedures.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate site activity records.
• Check and verify construction drawings and site implementation works.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, lab personnel and authorities on site matters.
• Prepare daily site reports, inspection records and supervision documentation.
• Attend site meetings and assist in resolving site-related technical issues.
• Perform standing supervision duties when required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction supervision works.
• Experience supervising civil, structural, infrastructure, building, or engineering construction projects.
• Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and site supervision practices.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations and authority requirements.
