Job summary

PERFECT ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Resident Technical Officer (RTO) to supervise complex construction works, including buildings, tunnels, deep excavations and foundations on major projects in Singapore.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical fields, 5+ years of RTO experience, IES/ACES accreditation, a BCSS certificate, and strong reporting and issue-resolution skills. Shift work is required, and meticulous site records are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant RTO experience including supervising complex construction projects.
• Diploma in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical discipline.
• Accredited by IES/ACES.
• BCSS safety certification.
• Knowledge of codes, site supervision, QA, and progress reporting.
• Maintaining accurate and updated site records of work progress.
• Willing to work in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate construction works on site, including monitoring and reporting progress.
• Install monitoring instruments and collate monitoring data for site records and reports.
• Prepare and submit progress reports and documentation to stakeholders.
• Resolve site issues proactively while maintaining safety and team collaboration.

Job description

• a. Experience:
  A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as an RTO, with at least 5 years in supervising works of similar complexity. This includes major construction projects involving buildings, tunnels, deep excavations, and foundations, as well as tasks such as installing monitoring instruments and collating monitoring data.


• b. Qualifications:
  Possess a Diploma in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical disciplines from a recognized Polytechnic or equivalent institution.


• c. Accreditation:
  Accredited by the Joint Accreditation Committee of the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES).


• d. Safety Certification:
  Hold a valid certificate in the Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Course.


• e. Technical Knowledge:
  Be conversant with statutory codes and requirements for site supervision, quality control procedures, construction administration, and the submission of progress reports.


• f. Record-Keeping:
  Demonstrate competence in maintaining accurate and updated site records of work progress.


• g. Problem-Solving:
  Be proactive in resolving and managing site issues while fostering a positive team spirit.


• h. Flexibility:
  Must be willing to work in shifts.
