Job summary

Neu Battery Materials in Singapore is seeking a research scientist to advance our electrochemical and separation processes for battery recycling. You will design experiments, evaluate ion exchange, precipitation, adsorption, and filtration steps, and help translate bench findings to scalable parameters for pilot and process engineering.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS/BS with hands-on research in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, materials science or related field.
• 3–5 years of experimental research in a related field.
• Solid grounding in solution chemistry: speciation, solubility and precipitation equilibria, kinetics and mass transfer.
• Hands-on experience with at least one separation or purification method (ion exchange, adsorption, precipitation, crystallisation, solvent extraction, membrane filtration or electrodialysis).
• Practical analytical skills (ICP-OES/MS, ion chromatography, TOC, UV-Vis, titration, digestion) with data quality judgement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise impurity-removal steps for complex process solutions (ion exchange, precipitation, adsorption, filtration).
• Investigate interactions of ions and organics in mixed solutions, including kinetics and thermodynamics.
• Measure and characterise organics and trace ions in aqueous samples and own the analytical methods.
• Translate bench findings into scale-ready parameters to support pilot and process engineering.
• Contribute to grant proposals, patent filings and internal technical documentation as needed.
