Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore invites applications for a Research Officer to design and execute laboratory experiments, analyze data, and document results. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biotechnology, biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology, nanotechnology, or related fields.
• Experience in laboratory research or R&D environments is preferred; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Experience in formulation development, nanoparticle systems, or biologics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct laboratory experiments according to project objectives and established protocols.
• Develop, optimize, and evaluate formulations and delivery systems for nucleic acids, biologics, or other therapeutic modalities.
• Perform routine and advanced laboratory techniques, including sample preparation, characterization, and analysis.
• Analyze experimental data and prepare reports, presentations, and technical summaries.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of research projects and milestones.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, laboratory notebooks, and project documentation.
• Support technology development, process optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
• Assist in drafting research reports, scientific publications, patents, and grant proposals.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure instruments are properly calibrated and functioning.
• Manage laboratory consumables, reagents, and inventory.
• Ensure laboratory activities comply with safety regulations and quality requirements.

Research & Experimental Activities

Preferred Experience For RNA Encapsulation & Delivery

• Formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), polymeric nanoparticles, or other nucleic acid delivery platforms.
• Experience with RNA handling, encapsulation, and stability studies.
• Knowledge of gene delivery, mRNA therapeutics, siRNA, or oligonucleotide formulations.
