Job summary

Esco Aster Pte Ltd is seeking a Research Assistant/Officer (Analytical Development) in Singapore to perform routine analytical testing and contribute to method development within the Analytical Development team. You will work on cell culture, analytical assays, and collaborations with Process Development and Quality teams to support drug substance/product characterization.

Fresh graduates with internship experience are welcome.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience or demonstrated competency in basic cell culture, cell-based assays, and ELISA.
  • Experience or knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and Karl Fischer titration.
  • Flow cytometry, qPCR, and Western blotting would be an advantage but training will be provided on the job, if needed.
  • Understand and be willing to work in accordance with GDP and cGxP requirements.
  • Meticulous and organized in scheduling experimental assays, documentation of analytical test reports, and drafting protocols.
  • Ability to communicate and explain experimental results effectively with internal stakeholders and identify logical next steps of the experiment.
  • Demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude and towards guidance; willing to learn new analytical techniques and deepen skill expertise.
  • Demonstrate collaborative efforts with cross functional teams in support of technology transfer of analytical to operational department, including transferring of SOP and analytical assay.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with applicable regulations and site safety requirements.
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned based on project needs.

Who we’re looking for

Desired profile of candidate

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience or demonstrated competency in basic cell culture, cell-based assays, and ELISA, and/or analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and Karl Fischer titration.

Experience in flow cytometry, qPCR, and Western blotting would be an advantage but is not essential, as relevant training will be provided on the job, if needed.

The candidate should also:

The Scope

You will be part of Esco Aster’s Analytical Development team and contribute to the company’s CDMO mission and objectives. As a member of the Analytical Development team, you will perform analytical tests and assays to support the testing and characterization of drug substances and drug products. The primary responsibilities of the role will include routine analytical testing, assay execution, and analytical method development activities. The role will require close collaboration with Process Development scientists and Quality team to support development programs, analytical investigations, method transfer, and project deliverables.

Primary work location: Ayer Rajah Crescent, Singapore.

Report To:

Selected candidate will report to Head of Scientific & Sales Operations, or others as assigned.

Other Requirements

  • Minimally Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related disciplines.
  • Fresh graduates with research internship experience in academia or industry are welcome to apply
  • Proficient in various software that supports scientific analysis (e.g. Microsoft excel, JMP, Prism etc)
  • Able to work independently, self-starter, self-motivated and task oriented.
  • Strong team player, develop positive relationships with a strong set of interpersonal skills.
  • During the start-up phase of the team/facility, be adaptable to dynamic workflow changes and shifting priorities.
