Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital seeks a Research Business Manager to provide strategic oversight and financial management for its research portfolio under the Academic Health Excellence mission. The role blends business development with research operations and financial oversight to ensure viability, governance compliance, and alignment with strategic priorities.

The incumbent collaborates with CTU/IMU and Site Finance to plan revenue, enable cost recovery, manage funds, and build governance frameworks

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• At least 5–8 years of relevant experience in financial management, business planning, or audit/compliance roles.
• Experience in research administration, healthcare finance, or academic health institutions is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and fund management principles.
• Familiarity with audit processes, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
• Experience working with enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to translate financial policies into practical guidance for operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end financial planning for the clinical trials portfolio with CTU and IMU involvement.
• Develop and govern value proposition frameworks for clinical trials, including costing models and pricing strategies.
• Conduct financial and commercial viability assessments for new initiatives and partnerships.
• Establish and monitor financial performance dashboards for clinical trials and portfolio profitability.
• Provide regular financial insights and reporting to CRIO leadership on trends and performance.
• Support mission-based budgeting and multi-year projections under the CERA framework.
• Oversee funding streams, track revenue, expenditure, and fund utilisation.
• Strengthen internal controls and support audit readiness and governance frameworks.
• Engage stakeholders and provide financial guidance to researchers and administrators.
• Contribute to SOPs and governance improvements for research administration.
