Job summary

National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Engineer (Solid State Batteries) within the College of Design and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering unit. Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Materials Science or a related discipline is required.
  • Some prior knowledge of electrochemical battery characterisation, preferably involving solid state or polymer batteries.
  • Basic knowledge in impedance spectroscopy, XRD and solid state NMR is desired.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Good writing and presentation skills are needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and realise long-life solid-state batteries by intelligent composites with active interfaces.
  • Collaborate on scalable synthesis and advanced structural and electrochemical characterisation.
  • Optimise cathode composites and their interfaces with the electrolyte.
  • Integrate functionally intelligent sensors and actuators for high performance solid state pouch cell batteries.
