Job summary

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Engineer to develop hybrid process models that combine first-principles simulation with machine learning for the design and scale-up of emerging membrane technologies for decarbonization.

You will collaborate with Prof. Yoel René Cortés-Peña and other researchers to model, validate experimentally, and optimize technology, using data to estimate uncertain performance and inform experiments.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Experience in membrane technologies and a strong interest in machine learning and design of experiments.

Responsibilities

• Develop hybrid process models combining first-principles simulation with machine learning to support design and scale-up of membrane technologies for decarbonization.
• Collaborate with Prof. Yoel René Cortés-Peña and other researchers on modelling, experimental validation, and technology optimization.
• Conduct techno-economic and environmental analyses to identify promising designs and guide experimental work.
