Job summary

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is seeking a Research Fellow to advance membrane and separation technologies for desalination, resource recovery, and decarbonisation.

The appointee will work within the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) on pilot- and lab-scale membrane systems, employing modelling and machine-learning approaches while publishing results and contributing to grant proposals.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in a relevant field (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related).
• Excellent journal publication record.
• Excellent report writing skills and strong presentation abilities.
• Experience in design, modelling and operation of membrane-based desalination and water treatment systems.
• Experience with membrane technology and separation processes, including RO/NF membranes and laboratory scale work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct membrane and separation research projects for desalination and resource recovery.
• Design, optimise, construct, commission and operate membrane-based desalination and water reclamation pilot- and lab-scale systems.
• Model membrane systems using conventional and machine-learning approaches.
• Publish research results and prepare project progress reports.
• Assist in grant proposal preparation and mentorship of PhD/masters/undergraduate students.
