Job summary

Curiox Biosystems Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Research Associate or Scientist for the Bioapplications team. This hands-on R&D role focuses on assay execution, validation, and workflow innovation to support internal teams and customer satisfaction.

You will execute cell-based workflows on Curiox platforms, contribute to verification/validation, and document results while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve Pluto workflows and consumables.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience in assay development or lab automation preferred (open to strong candidates outside range).
• Comfortable working hands-on in a laboratory environment and maintaining detailed records.

• Support development and optimization of bioapplication protocols on Pluto.

SG53 Research Associate / Scientist, R&D Bioapplications

Location: Singapore (Sembawang)

Reports to: Manager, Bioapplications

Curiox Biosystems is a life science technology company transforming sample preparation for cell analysis

through its C-FREE™ automation platforms. Our Pluto liquid handling workstations eliminate centrifugation and

enable reproducible, scalable workflows across flow cytometry and related applications.

We are seeking a Research Associate or Scientist to join the Bioapplications team. This is a laboratory-based

R&D role focused on assay execution, validation, and workflow innovation that supports internal teams and

strengthens overall customer satisfaction. You will also contribute ideas that help improve Pluto workflows and

consumables.

What You’ll Do

Assay Execution & Development

• Execute cell-based assays and sample preparation workflows (e.g., flow cytometry sample preparation).
• Support development and optimization of bioapplication protocols on Pluto.
• Troubleshoot experimental variability and improve workflow robustness.
• Contribute ideas to improve assay reproducibility, clarity, and usability.
• Work with the design lead to test new ideas and prototypes, and give clear feedback from the data.

Verification & Validation

• Perform verification and validation experiments for new or improved workflows.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical methods.
• Prepare structured reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable documentation of protocols and results.

Laboratory & Technical Operations

• Operate and maintain Pluto liquid handling workstations.
• Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and safety compliance.
• Follow internal quality and documentation standards.
• Participate in internal technical discussions to support continuous improvement

Who You Are

Must-Haves

• Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience in assay development or lab automation preferred. We are open to strong candidates outside this range.
• Comfortable working hands-on in a laboratory environment.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined record-keeping habits.
• Logical, structured approach to experimental work and troubleshooting

Good to Have

• Exposure to flow cytometry sample preparation workflows preferred.
• Familiarity with liquid handling systems or laboratory automation.
• Interest in design, prototyping, or how lab products are developed. No engineering degree needed.
