Job summary

Binance is seeking a Backend Architect for the Pay&Card team to architect and build card-related systems end to end. You will drive scalable, secure infrastructure and lifecycle management for card products in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

The role demands deep Java/Spring expertise, experience with card onboarding, and strong system design skills in high‑throughput environments. A builder mindset and hands‑on delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with Java/Spring in a payments or fintech context.
• Experience designing and maintaining card systems and onboarding programs.
• Knowledge of card network standards and payment flows.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements for card programmes.
• Experience in agile, fast-paced environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain backend systems for card issuing and lifecycle management.
• Lead technical design for card certification processes (Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
• Define system architecture, service boundaries, and integration patterns.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance with payment network standards.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering to translate requirements into specs.
• Establish engineering best practices and documentation for the team.
• Hands-on execution as a builder, not just advisory.
