Job summary

NEA's Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group seeks professionals to regulate radiation use, review EPR plans and contribute to policy development. You will conduct inspections, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with industry and international partners to uphold safety standards.

The role emphasizes rigorous analysis, clear communication, and the ability to work both independently and within a team to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

Degree in physics or radiation-related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in ionising radiation and radiation protection.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; good writing and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

Administer the Radiation Protection Act and Regulations and ensure regulatory compliance across all radiation users.
Review licensees' on-site Emergency Preparedness and Response plans for compliance and improvement.
Support the review and enhancement of the regulatory framework through benchmarking and international best practices.
Evaluate radiation protection, security, transport and radioactive waste plans for regulatory compliance.
Contribute to regulatory policies, guidance and technical documents for safe and secure use of radiation.
Conduct site inspections, investigate issues, and provide technical advice on radiation protection matters.
Collaborate with industry stakeholders, international organisations and government agencies on regulatory matters.
