NEA National Environment Agency in Singapore seeks a Scientific Officer in the Ionising Radiation Control Department to enforce radiation safety regulations and advance the country’s protection framework. You will review EPR plans, conduct inspections, and develop regulatory guidance while coordinating with industry and international partners.

The role requires a physics or radiation-related degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physics or radiation discipline.
• At least 2 years in ionising radiation and radiation protection.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical, writing and presentation skills.
• Able to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changes.
• Motivated, meticulous and committed.
• Knowledge of regulatory matters would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Enforce Radiation Protection Act and Regulations across radiation users.
• Review on-site Emergency Preparedness and Response plans for compliance.
• Benchmark and analyze international best practices to improve framework.
• Evaluate protection, security, transport and waste plans for compliance.
• Develop regulatory policies and technical guidance for safe use of radiation.
• Conduct site inspections and investigate regulatory issues.
• Collaborate with industry, international organisations and agencies.
