Reporting directly to the HR Director, you will work in a lean, flat, and collaborative environment where you can make a tangible impact as the business scales.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full monthly, in-house payroll cycle across APAC, including Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.
- Process and validate payroll inputs, including new hires, exits, salary changes, bonuses, allowances, overtime, leave, reimbursements, and other variable payments.
- Ensure accurate calculation and payment of salaries, statutory contributions, taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related payments.
- Maintain payroll records, reconciliations, payroll journals, bank files, statutory reporting, and audit documentation.
- Partner with Finance on payroll funding, payments, cost allocations, month-end reporting, and accruals.
- Prepare statutory filings, tax documentation, and year-end payroll reporting in accordance with local requirements.
- Keep abreast of local payroll, tax, social-security, and employment-law changes across relevant markets.
- Respond to employee payroll queries accurately and promptly.
- Maintain robust payroll controls, data privacy standards, payroll calendars, and process documentation.
- Support employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding, transfers, employee changes, and offboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee information across HRIS, payroll systems, and personnel records.
- Support HR reporting, benefits administration, process improvement, HRIS enhancements, and other regional HR projects.
Background
- 6-8 years of payroll experience, including direct responsibility for end-to-end, in-house payroll processing.
- Experience supporting multiple APAC markets; Southeast Asia experience is essential, while exposure to Japan and/or Korea would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of payroll calculations, statutory contributions, tax, deductions, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working closely with Finance on payroll funding, reporting, journals, and accruals.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced in using HRIS and payroll systems.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, discreet, and able to manage critical payroll deadlines independently.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving, and less structured environment.
