Job summary

Nomura Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Governance Officer, Executive Director to lead governance standards across the regional platform from framework design to escalation and reporting.

You will work with the regional leadership team to drive critical initiatives and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations. You will oversee committee governance, minutes, and governance administration while partnering with Legal, Compliance and Risk to reinforce the firm’s risk culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in governance, risk and control discussions within financial services.
• Ability to engage credibly with Committee Chairs, senior management and regulators.
• Proven track record in leading governance forums and secretariat functions.

Responsibilities

• Act as principal custodian of governance standards across the regional platform—from framework to escalation, reporting and administration.
• Lead governance reviews to identify gaps and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and group standards.
• Oversee senior management governance structures, including committee mandates and minutes.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance and Risk to ensure governance remains aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Lead regional projects and initiatives with governance input and senior stakeholder coordination.
• Drive the AEJ Office of Conduct and Culture agenda and promote a strong risk culture regionally.
