Job Purpose
- Support the Trade Management Team Asia-MENATAF and help to improve transparency of actions
- Active involvement to achieve profitable growth and widen our customer base
- Manage Allocations with clients and carriers
Key Responsibilities
Customers – New and Existing
- Pre-analyze RFQ's on potential and importance
- Collaborate on solutions as space and equipment issues on a day-to-day basis with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide analysis of Trade KPI's
- Upload of FAK, MTS and NAC levels internally
Regional Buying
- Negotiate and maintain competitive rates
- Establish country’s requested rates with carriers (for named accounts requests)
- Understand country’s needs and negotiate specific requirements with target carriers e.g. space protection / allocation, free time on demurrage and detention
- Monitoring core carrier adherence performance by using available tools to achieve targets with carriers based on the latest estimate.
- Maintaining trade's contract database and review in conjunction with allocation
Country OFR Organisations
- Establish regular market information to countries (Update on latest changes in surcharges and market situation)
- Support ASPA countries on rates and carriers’ related issues
- Communicate with overseas offices on day-to-day issues
- Guidance to countries on trade and market related subjects
- Networking with RDMs of stakeholding countries to develop potential businesses
Management
- Monitor and report market rate changes, weekly liftings and prepare monthly strategy report
- Monitor key account performance, rates and resolve space/equipment issues
- Ensure efficient flow of information concerning carriers’ activities and market development to management
- Manage allocation for the trade with AP allocation team to fulfill carrier targets and contract MQCs, maximize yield and carrier incentives
- Ensure regular market information for the trade & communicate this to Trade Management, OFR network and M&S
Global OFR Carriers in Asia Pacific
- Develop and maintain relations with global ocean freight carriers
- Discuss and initiate actions to solve problems on space or equipment constraints
- Obtain updated information from ocean carriers on latest rate implementation
- Set up space protection with target carriers
Experience/Qualification Requirements
- Degree Holder
- Min 2-3 years’ experience
- Good knowledge of ocean freight products
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Problem solving skills: Analyze problems effectively and find the best solutions
- Possess knowledge of carrier’s functions
- Acquired knowledge in general shipping matters (e.g. Operations, customer service, documentation, claims, clearance, etc)
- Possess basic Logistics/Supply Chain Management knowledge
- Well versed in software knowledge (word, excel, power point, etc)
- Ability to communicate in different dialects or foreign languages is an added advantage
