Job summary

MSIG Asia Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced underwriting professional to lead the growth and profitability of our Energy & Construction/Engineering portfolio across Asia, with a focus on Renewable Energy. The role includes technical leadership, capability building, and strategic collaboration with brokers, MGAs and stakeholders.

You will coach teams, enhance underwriting standards, and drive sustainable growth while ensuring regulatory and governance compliance across markets in Asia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• ACII or equivalent professional qualification.
• 10+ years in insurance or reinsurance with Energy/Construction and Renewable Energy underwriting.
• Strong understanding of Energy & Construction/Engineering and Renewable Energy exposures.
• Experience in business development and portfolio management.
• Experience in risk engineering and claims handling.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management across markets and cultures.
• Commitment to integrity and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for performance of Energy & Construction/Engineering portfolio across Asia.
• Provide technical underwriting recommendations within delegated authority.
• Develop Renewable Energy business arrangements with MGAs and stakeholders.
• Build relationships with brokers, reinsurers, insureds and other partners to grow the business.
• Coach and develop underwriting talent across the organization.
• Support product development and guidance for complex risks and major accounts.
• Support underwriting systems, processes and workflows for efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic goals.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and governance standards.
