Job summary

MSIG Singapore is seeking a seasoned insurance professional to mentor junior staff, identify growth areas, and maintain strong relationships with clients. The role oversees underwriting within set guidelines, provides technical advice on marine risks, and collaborates with MSIJ, MSIG Asia, and reinsurers.

The position emphasizes leadership, risk assessment, and proactive portfolio management, with responsibilities spanning credit control and process efficiency to support business expansion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in general insurance.
• Technical knowledge in Marine underwriting and risk management.
• Tertiary education and relevant CGI/general insurance qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach junior staff by enhancing their product/ market knowledge.
• Identify and develop potential business areas and maintain professional relationships with existing and potential customers, providing technical advice.
• Review, accept and underwrite business within Risk Acceptance Authority and guidelines including claim matters, recommendations on wordings and liaison with MSIJ, MSIG Asia, overseas Business Units and reinsurers.
• Participate in company level committees for ad-hoc projects to improve and expand operations/business.
• Manage and implement proper credit control procedures and bad debt recovery.
• Ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in work processes within the department.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned.
