Job summary

AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. is hiring an Underwriting Manager, Energy in Singapore. You will lead energy underwriting strategies, manage broker/client relationships, and drive profitable growth across APAC markets.

Qualifications

  • Degree required: Bachelor’s or higher in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge in financial/credit analysis and interpretation of financial statements.
  • Minimum 2 years of underwriting or brokerage experience in energy and construction.
  • Experience in account management and dealing with brokers or clients.
  • Proactive, independent, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and underwrite prospect business and renewal accounts in APAC in line with underwriting authority and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with risk engineering, claims and analytics teams to assess risk quality and pricing.
  • Negotiate contract terms with brokers and clients.
  • Maintain underwriting information accurately in systems.
  • Build strong relationships with external and internal partners.
  • Understand clients’ businesses to craft effective insurance solutions.
  • Attend client/broker meetings and relevant industry events.
  • Participate in special underwriting projects as required.
  • Work cross-functionally with other underwriting teams to achieve objectives.
