Job summary

American International Group (AIG) in Singapore is seeking an Underwriting Manager for Energy to lead risk selection and pricing for corporate energy accounts. You will work with brokers and clients, underwrite new business and renewals, and guide junior underwriters in APAC.

In this role you will collaborate with risk engineering, claims, and analytics teams to assess exposures, set terms, and ensure efficiency.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience in energy or related lines.
• APAC market knowledge preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Risk assessment and pricing capabilities.
• Experience with broker/client negotiations and renewal submissions.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite prospect business and renewal accounts in APAC, in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with risk engineering, claims and analytics teams to assess risk quality and loss exposures, determine pricing and ensure efficiency.
• Negotiate contract terms with brokers and clients.
• Maintain underwriting information accurately in systems and documentation.
• Foster strong relationships with external and internal partners.
• Attend client/broker meetings, presentations and industry events.
• Participate in cross-functional underwriting projects as required.
