Job summary

ALS RECRUIT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced APAC Regional Employment Counsel to lead labor and workplace strategy across Asia-Pacific.

The role reports to global legal leadership in the US and serves as the primary advisor to regional executives and HR on cross-border employment matters. The successful candidate will oversee regional compliance, support organizational change, and manage labor risk across all APAC operations, coordinating with external counsel as needed to ensure alignment

Qualifications

• 7–10 years PQE in labor and employment law.
• Experience with multinational corporations.
• Strong APAC labor law knowledge and cross-border compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal guidance on workforce matters, contracts, labor standards, and statutory requirements across APAC.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on restructurings, M&A integration, and policy rollouts.
• Direct internal workplace investigations and manage employment disputes; oversee external counsel as needed.
• Monitor regional developments to align operations with local codes and global standards.

Reporting directly to global legal leadership in the US, the successful candidate will serve as the primary legal advisor to regional executive management and Human Resources. This individual will oversee cross-border employment compliance, support organizational change, and manage labor risk across all regional operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Regional Legal Advisory: Deliver practical legal guidance on workforce matters, employment contracts, labor standards, and statutory requirements across Asia-Pacific jurisdictions.
• Strategic Business Alignment: Partner with senior leadership on organizational restructurings, M&A integration, workforce planning, and corporate policy rollouts.
• Risk & Dispute Management: Direct internal workplace investigations, manage employment disputes, and oversee external legal counsel across the region.
• Compliance Frameworks: Monitor regional legislative developments to ensure local operations align with both local labor codes and global corporate standards.

Qualifications & Key Attributes

• Professional Experience: 7 to 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) focused on labor and employment law.
• Track Record: Background combination of a top-tier law firm and an in-house regional role within a multinational corporation.
• Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of APAC labor laws, cross-border workforce issues, and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to counsel senior business leaders, partner with global HR functions, and communicate effectively across international time zones.
