Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a Messaging System Engineer (Contract) in Singapore to design, implement, and maintain a real-time messaging backbone connecting factory automation, MES, and enterprise IT. You will deploy and manage Kafka/RabbitMQ/Pulsar clusters, define topics and data schemas, and optimize for low latency and high reliability.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong expertise in message-oriented middleware and real-time streaming platforms.
• Hands-on experience deploying or managing Kafka or similar messaging technologies in production.
• Experience with topic design, partitioning strategies, replication, and broker management.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python for developing producers and consumers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain messaging infrastructure across shop-floor and IT platforms.
• Deploy, configure, and manage distributed message brokers to enable streaming data to cloud or on-premise apps.
• Define and manage topics, channels, and data schemas for events like equipment status and alarms.
• Optimize architecture for low latency, high throughput, and reliability; ensure no data loss or duplication.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for the messaging pipeline and diagnose issues.
